Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of planning do you specialize in?
A: Our planning is centered on advanced strategies that address tax, estate and retirement planning. While most of our clients are business owners and executives, we have clients from all walks of life each with their own unique set of needs. Planning strategies are tailored to client situations and are adjusted along the way. Our planning encompasses the following: reviews of living trusts and wills, succession planning, buy-sell agreements, retirement accounts, charitable planning, and wealth management.
What makes you different from other advisors?
Our consulting experience and depth of knowledge in using financial vehicles with one another helps differentiate us from others in our field. A passion for helping others and attention to detail also help us stand out. We focus on solutions to common problems and only recommend products when they address a client’s needs. Financial vehicles like trusts, life insurance, etc are common vehicles when discussed as asset allocation of an overall portfolio.
Do you handle securities?
Our agency does not handle securities. For securities related needs, we refer to partners who focus in related areas full time. This allows us to specialize in areas and strategies not commonplace in society because the end result is better for clients.
How are you compensated?
Consultations and recommendations are offered at no cost. Our goal is providing sound financial advice that puts the client first. If a product fits a client need and is placed, we are compensated directly by the company. If we meet with a person who has everything in good order, all we ask is that you refer someone who can potentially benefit from meeting with us. This client centric attitude has allowed for most of our business to come from referrals which are the best compliment we can receive as consultants.
What happens when Bob retires in a few years?
After 50 years in business and an impressive career working with many firms across the country, it is natural to assume Bob won’t be around forever. To address this concern, Bob and I have been working to ensure planning for clients continues long after he decides to “retire.” Our clients that know Bob, understand that “retirement” for him is somewhat laughable. While he intends to take a step back and let Brian take more of the lead, he will always be involved in overseeing business operations because of his dedication to excellence. In retirement, clients can expect the same high level of service from Executive Plan Design and for Bob to always be involved.

Here’s what just some of our clients have said
When I was younger, I bought into the ideology of setting up a retirement plan and forgetting about it. When I was laid off in my younger years, I moved money I had saved into IRA accounts. Now that I have retired, I was scared about moving my retirement savings due to the scandalous sales people.I was so relieved when someone told me about Bob and Brian. They have great character, are very informative, and are the best of all those who are truly honest.
